∙ 12y agoLassie, the dog, is of the Collie breed. all movie and TV Lassies were of this breed, as it is a standard breed, different dogs could be used for different types of stunts and the viewer would not be the wiser. It is kind of silly in a way as the special effects were of the type- the Dog was always at a distance from real trouble- e.g. brush fires, and the camera angles would focus on the kid- Timmy- Lassie- Get away it"s Dangerous? trick Photography of a fairly low technology was often used and often the backgrounds did not match up,hinting fakery= using melded split-projections.
