A theist describes a person who believes in a God or many Gods. The opposite would be an atheist, who does not believe in God.

Well it is dependant on what religion the person personal opinion, how many gods you are talking about. Because Gods' is referring to multiple Gods and God's is referring to one God.

Hinduism is the major religion in India. It actually has many gods and goddesses so it is polytheism. However, India has also religion called Buddhism and it's monotheism.
