∙ 9y agoThe translation process takes place in the ribosome (rRNA). In the first step of translation, called initiation, the small ribosomal subunit attaches to the strand of mRNA at the 5' end. tRNA molecule with the anticodon attaches to the mRNA. The large ribosomal subunit attaches at (p) site.

A eukaryotic ribosome is composed of nucleic acids and about 80 proteins and has a molecular mass of about 4,200,000 Da. About two-thirds of this mass is composed of ribosomal RNA and one third of about 50+ different ribosomal proteins.
