You need to go to your personal doctor and get more thorough tests. An emergency room is only intended to provide immediate, life saving services. You cannot expect your local emergency room to find out why you have a pain, but there are several other possibilities that can only be detected medical tests. There is a very high percentage of especially men that are raced off to ER believing they are having a heart attack and over 75% of these complaints are due to anxiety attacks. Anxiety attacks can mimic heart attacks. It's wise to see your doctor and have him refer you to a heart specialist just to be sure and put your mind at rest. If all is well then LISTEN TO YOUR BODY because it's telling you to slow down, probably exercise more, relax more often (go fishing, skiing, biking, hiking, etc.) and stress is one factor regarding heart attacks. Men are more prone to anxiety attacks because they internalize their feelings while women are more apt to discuss their problems with their mate or a good friend. Still, women are almost neck-in-neck with men regarding heart problems since they started to go out to work like their mates.
