Well, of course when you get a new puppy, you must first spend quality time with it and make sure it knows you love him and show him his new home. Love him and care for him!!! But you also need to make sure that you get the "needs" like the appropriate foods, collars, food bowls, a bed, and toys, etc. Make sure to find a vet also.... he could probably tell you the rest!!!!!!!!!!

∙ 8y agoWhen you first bring your guinea pig home. you should immediate get some fresh vegetables and fruit to make your guinea pig feel at home. Make sure they have plenty of water, heaps of places to hide and a secure house with comfortable bedding!
After a few hours have past and your guinea pig has started to calm down you may want to try handling it, I recommend a closed room where the guinea pig can't escape from.
Offer it treats like small amounts of cabbage, cheese or even things like apple or carrot! If you do a little bit every day your guinea pig will not only be comfortable with being handled, but will enjoy your company!
Don't rush into anything with your guinea pig! And remember to create a safe and fun environment for him/her!
