the responsibilities of a worker is to let the person in charge of the opperation know about the situation. and if they don't listen then it is up to you to take matters into your own hands. As a social worker, you must inform the client at the beginning of the session that if they tell you that they are thinking of or planning to do harm to someone or to them self, then you MUST tell them that by law it is your obligation to report this to others, even though the conversation between client and social worker is confidential. Causing harm to self or others is not protected under the law.
