Well they won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest with 'Waterloo'. But I'm sure you knew that. However, they entered the qualification rounds for the Swedish 1973 Song Contest with 'Ring Ring' and ultimately failed.

By most measures, Dancing Queen is ABBA's best-known song. It reached number 1 on the charts in most countries and is likely the song that still receives the most plays on radio and on the dance floor. (Which is ironic because composers Ulvaeus and Andersson always considered the song too slow to be dance number, and it never charted on the Billboard dance chart.) A ranking of ABBA's singles, based on their chart performance in 17 major countries, suggests these are the band's top five songs:

5. Knowing Me, Knowing You

4. The Winner Takes it All

3. Fernando

2. Chiquitita

1. Dancing Queen

I quite sure it was Ring Ring. They didn't get past the semi finals though because i think they came 3rd or 4th and Agnetha (One of the Females in the group) was very heavily pregnant at the time
