Egg Caterpillar Cocoon Butterfly
the answer is egg, larva, nymph and then cocoon.
There are four stages in a butterfly or moth's life cycle. These stages include egg, larva, pupa, as well as adult.
The butterfly goes through many stages in its lifetime. It is only during the cocoon stage, that it stops eating completely.
Butterflys
Butterflies have 4 stages of life: egg, caterpillar, pupa and butterfly. The butterfly starts out its life in an egg, and once it is laid, it eats it for its first meal. Once a caterpillar, it transforms itself into a cocoon, also known as the pupa stage. It stays inside the cocoon for about 85 days. Once that time is up, the head and the antennae emerge first followed by the rest of the body. The wings are crumpled up, so their powerful muscles stretch them out. The whole cycle takes one hour and a half. Now it is in the butterfly stage. The butterfly finds a mate and lays 1000 oval shaped eggs at a time. However, few survive. The cycle repeats with the butterfly in the egg. I hope this helped :)
