∙ 13y agoIt defeated Mexico and settled the dispute with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. No countries were won or lost, but the Mexican Cession was a major chunk of land.
Americans paid not only with money, but with civil war. Southeners prepared for war because why would northern soldiers come to fight if the south is closer? The South sent its soldiers and they were trained for battle. The infamous Robert E. Lee won his expirience there.
