The three states that are almost entirely in 'tornado alley' are Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. A huge area of north and central Texas, plus about half of South Dakota, are in tornado alley. See related links for a map.

What 19 states make up tornado alley?

There are not 19 states in Tornado Alley, though there is some variation in how the maps are drawn. Tornado Alley includes much of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, and smaller portions of Colorado and Missouri. Some maps also include Arkansas, North Dakota, and Illinois but that is stretching it a bit. Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are sometimes listed, but these are actually part of Dixie Alley.

A tornado anywhere is a violent event. If you mean by the technical definition of a violent tornado, one rated EF4 or EF5, such tornadoes do occur fairly regularly in Tornado Alley, but make up a very small minority of the tornadoes that occur there. As with most places, most of the tornadoes in Tornado Alley are rated EF0 or EF1.

The most likely place in the whole world is a place called the Tornado Alley. It is located down the middle of the United Sates, and the states that are included in the Tornado Alley are Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and such. How does a tornado form ?.1 Wind shearWind at different speed and directions with changing altitude make something called wind shear, which can start thunderstorms spinning.2. SpinningIt will eventually spin faster and the higher speed will be the bottom of it ..3 TornadogenesisA downdraft triggered by this intensification of the bottom of the rotation tightens the circulation and extends it toward the ground, forming a tornado.

Why is it important to issue tornado warnings as early as possible?

I used to live in Tornado Alley... a tornado watch means that the weather conditions mean it is very likely that a tornado will form in an area. A tornado warning means a tornado has touched down nearby.

Where is it more likely in the US to have a tornado?

Two areas of the United States are more prevelant for Tornadic Activity, that being Tornado Alley (Western Plains, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri etc) and an area referred to as Dixie Alley (Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama & Georgia). Where as more Tornadoes are reported in Tornado Alley than anywhere else in the world, Dixie Alley has more Killer Tornadoes, that of Fuji Scale 3 or Higher. These Tornadoes tend to be longer lived and generally come in the night "Dixie's Nighttime stalkers" which make them more dangerous than it's western cousins. Florida has more Tornadoes per square mile than any other state however they tend to be weak and generally are spin offs of coastal disturbances isolated to Early Spring through Late Fall months when the oceans are at their warmest.

Can a tornado in Kansas reach Minnesota?

No, a single tornado can not live that long. The weather system making tornadoes could stretch that far and make tornadoes in both states.

Where is the worst place to be in a tornado?

The worst place to be in a tornado is outside or in a car. Outside, of course, you are completely exposed. Cars offer little to no protection from debris, the main killer in a tornado, and can be easily rolled or tossed as well. Other bad places to be include under a bridge, and in a trailer.
