The body can be allergic to any food; therefore any food allergy is capable of causing inflammation and Arthritis. This includes RA, juvenile arthritis, and undefined joint pains. This is why it can be so difficult for one to recognize the relationship between their diet and their symptoms. Let's use a dairy allergy as an example. If you eat any form of dairy, be it milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, or even dairy in the form of casein or whey in another food product, such as bread or Milk Chocolate, then you can potentially trigger the symptoms of your food allergy, in this case arthritis. Allergy symptoms may show up hours or even a day later, well after a food is absorbed into your system.

Depends on so many factors These symptoms and signs will vary slightly from person to person, but in a reaction they might include:

  • Stomach ache
  • Itchy eyes
  • An itchy skin rash
  • Hives
  • Runny nose
  • Tingling tongue or lips
  • Sneezing
  • Watery eyes

Those symptoms and signs may begin to lessen, but they may also become substantially more severe and can include:

  • A tightening of the throat
  • A hoarse voice
  • Nausea and/or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Coughing or wheezing

I have a almost 4year old son who has had a runny nose for months now. I've given him different meds but it hasn't gone away and now for the past couple weeks his voice has been hoarse. I was told by his granny that it could be Allergies and now that ive seen your answer im starting to agree. My question now is should I be taking him to our family doctor for a further check-up? or will it just go away? I've never had allergies before so Im not sure how it really works...

Thank you...

Symptom of allergies to food can include any of the following:

Skin rashes, spots, or areas of redness; gastrointestinal problems (including diarrhea, stomach upset, indigestion, bloating, gas, nausea, vomiting, and cramps); tingling or warm feeling in the mouth or lips; severe reactions like difficulty breathing, a tight feeling or unusual sensation in the throat, difficulty swallowing, and can lead to death in such severe cases.

A person experiencing a severe reaction should be given Epinephrine (Epi-pen injector) to help counter the allergic reaction and be taken to a hospital immediately.

Of note, some consumers have reported the following side effects of allergic reactions: Water retention or worsening of chronic inflammatory conditions such as arthritis.
