No you do not need a special license in FL. You do have to pass a felony background check in order to use a TASER. This just takes a few minutes and it is performed by TASER International. A background check is necessary prior to purchasing the TASER X26 model because it is sent to the customer in an active state. A background check is not necessary to purchase a TASER C2 because it is sent to the customer in an innactive state. But in order to activate or use the TASER C2, you need to call TASER International for a background felony check. Either way, you end up having to go through a background check in order to use the TASERS.

∙ 14y agoYou need to be over the age of 18 and you have to pass a background felony check, done by Taser International. You don't need a special license or permit to carry a Taser, like you would a fire arm. Felony check just takes a few minutes, not days!

All a person has to do to carry or own a Taser in Virginia, is to pass a felony background check. This is a simple, approximately 10 minute, check. It can be done through Taser International's website or by calling them. The Taser C2 comes in an innactive state and you should contact Taser International, once you receive the unit from the seller. The Taser X26C come active, so you will be required to take the felony background check, before you purchase the unit. Once you pass the test, the seller will be able to send you the unit.
