After a workout it would be nice to eat something healthy like an apple. Make sure to drink lots and lots of water. After i am refueled i would prefer to just take a nice warm shower to get all of the sweat off. Next, let your body relax and take a nice, long nap. ;)

There are a number of steps you can take after a running or jogging workout to ensure proper recovery.

1. Hydrate. The average adult human being is comprised of 50-65% water. On a hot day, a runner can lose up to 1.5 liters of water in sweat per hour! Water aides our bodies in countless functions, including repairing and healing of body tissue. Adequate hydration levels are not only an integral part of successful running, but are important for everyday health and well being.

2. Refuel. Even if you do not feel hungry, or able to stomach a meal after a long run, it is important to consume at least a small snack after vigorous exercise. Refueling with carbohydrates will replenish depleted stores of muscle and liver glycogen that were utilized during your run. Further, consuming protein will help repair damaged muscle cells, and aid in recovery. A 4:1 carbohydrate to protein ratio is ideal in post long run snacks.

3. Stretch. Maintaining flexibility helps to prevent injuries among runners. Specific muscles, such as the hip flexors, and ligaments, such as the iliotibial band, are increasingly prone to tightening in runners. Stretching after a run helps ensure the muscles are warmed up and less prone to injury, as opposed to stretching before a workout. Stretching will also help increase blood flow to the muscles, which will aid in recovery.

4. Rest. Most of the growth as well as healing and repair in our muscles and joints occurs during periods of sleep and rest. Be sure to get adequate rest after a particularly hard workout, and incorporate entire rest days into your regular training program.

Re-hydrate and stretch your muscles. Stretching your muscles after the jog will prevent injury and allow for increased blood flow to muscles.

Can you? yes, i mean it's physically possible but why would pre-workout be called "pre" workout if your taking it after your work out ? It would just be foolish to do that because the pre workout wouldn't do anything for you. you would just be getting energized after your already done working out there would be no point. take your pre workout supplement 10 minutes before you work out and take your post workout protein/supplement within thirty minutes after your workout. I recommend taking your post workout A.S.A.P. after your workout.
