Personally, I'd talk to a lawyer and have her arrange it. That way there's a lower chance of unpleasant surprises. While it's not common, I've heard of the occassional felony warrant where the person tried to turn himself in, made the arrangements to meet and all, only to find himself arrested on the steps of the police stattion -- they got credit for the bust and he got NO credit for turning himself in.

I wouldn't say it helps, but it doesn't hurt. The good news is that they will probably give you a desk appearance ticket so you would have to appear in court in about a month. Going in is just to print you and take mugshots. I don't know, I mean sometime's it's better to let them arrest you so you can see the judge within a day or two, whereas if you turned yourself in you would hvae to wait a month and it would probably stress you out. If you choose to turn yourself in, don't submit any statements, or answer any questions relating to the case because that can only hurt you.

You can call the court or law enforcement agency that holds the warrant and tell them the location of the person named in the warrant. Whether they act to arrest him depends on the nature of the offense, whether the person is in their jurisdiction or their state, and the availability of officers to serve the warrant.

Just head to the nearest police station. The officers there will make any arrangements needed to transport or extradite you elsewhere.

Call the issuing department and turn yourself in. It's better than being pulled out of your car and handcuffed in front of your friends or family.
