you must have the leak stopped! it's more than likely either the front or rear seal!
Replace seals
leaking lines. have just replaced lines but never a trany yet
Transmissions have lines that run from the transmission to the oil cooler in front ot the engine. Most of the time, it's made into the radiator. These metal lines sometimes rub against the metal chasis, causing a hole. It may also be corroded from a leaking battery case. Remove the battery and find the leak. It can be repaired easily with a rubber hose made for transmissions and clamps.
Many transmissions these days do not have a dipstick anymore. If it is not leaking fluid, it isn't low. If it is leaking fluid, take it to a garage. There are ways to check the fluid level but you need to lift the car.
Seeing that the AU /BA series transmissions do not have a dipstick, filing is required through the fluid sensor plug on the side of the transmission. These particular transmissions are notorious for leaking, so keep an eye on the instrument dash for warning lights and buzzers, otherwise it can be a very costly experience!!
manual and automatic transmissions.
Many of the Saturn L series automatic transmissions do not have a dipstick. They are the "new breed" of transmissions that are SUPPOSED to be trouble free. When you take it in to have the transmission serviced they will make sure it is filled and not leaking. Other than that, follow the instructions in the owners manual and have the transmission serviced (oil and filter changed) according to the schedule in the book.
Remove the 11/16 sized bolt on the transmissions towards the passenger side. Keep adding with a 45 degree funnel till it starts leaking. Reinstall bolt.
Toyota transmissions
There are basically three types of transmissions: manual, automatic and continuously variable transmissions (CVT). CVT is the only other type that would fall under the automatic category. transmissions for a ++++++ transmissions for a dodge truck
Automatic transmissions are sealed components that should not require replacement fluid, except during service changes and flushes. The 2000 Chevrolet Blazer with the 4L60E Hydramatic if leaking is indicative of a hard and or soft part failures. These could sources as simple as a hose to a major failure of the 4L60E case itself.
