I am a 22 year old woman who has combination skin and a fair Irish complexion, and I get the occasional monster of a pimple that just doesn't go away. It starts out as a sort of swelling and I try my best to not mess with it. At the start of the swelling I use Invisible Blemish Gel with SA as the main ingredient. This usually helps the swelling go down, but occasionally there forms a white head, which looks tiny and poppable. So I pop it and yes, out comes white stuff, but also blood, which is a sign that I should have just left it alone, because it is obviously deeper than it looks, and yet I continue to just keep squeezing and popping until it scabs. Then I have a horrible, red, peeling scab that I have to treat. And although I have read from other posts in my research on pimples that Neosporin need NOT be used, I use Neosporin plus pain relief, I use it at night without make up on and I use lots of it - almost the size of the NERDS candy if anyone knows what that is. But I do use a bunch directly on the scab, and in the morning I put it on lightly under my make up and just make sure to gently, but thoroughly wash your face and repeat at night until it has healed. And to diminsh the red mark quicker, I use Body Shop's tea tree oil blemish stick, but honestly any tea tree oil applied to it will help, and to prevent scarring, if you feel Neosporin didn't do the trick, then use Vitamin E oil from the Vitamin E gel caplets sold in stores. It works fantastic.
