Sunlight contains a few different beams on the electromagnetic spectrum. The most noticeable is visible light. Since the light is white, it contains all of the colors on the visible light spectrum (from red to violet, 700nm-400nm). There is also ultraviolet rays (400 nm to 10 nm) which is invisible to the human eye but in certain doses will cause skin cancer. Since the sun emits heat that warms the earth, sunlight also emits infrared radiation (750 nm to 1 mm).

This is a very oversimplified answer.

Ultimately, all of a sun's energy comes from gravity. Due to the shear mass of a star, the gravitational forces in the sun are so strong that, at the center of the sun, atoms are fused together in a process called nuclear fusion. Nuclear fusion itself liberates a huge amount of thermal (heat)and electromagnetic (light) energy, and this energy both heats the sun, making it hotter, and escapes from the sun in the form of sunlight. The sun also discharges some of its particles at very high speed into near and far space, called solar flares and the solar wind.

So, to answer the question, the following types of energy are in the sun:

  1. Gravitational potential energy;
  2. Thermonuclear energy;
  3. Thermal kinetic energy;
  4. Light energy; and
  5. Ballistic kinetic energy.

Squirrel energy of course! In space there are squirrels that run nonstop on the moon and because the sun is too hot a sunproof cable is connected to the sun. :) :)

From what part of the sun does the sun produce its energy?

The sun is just a great ball of gas and its the atoms in that gas that fuse and give off its energy(in heat and light).
