For the first few weeks a duckling should be fed a chick started (not medicated)

After that they will eat fruits/ veggies, worms, bugs of all sorts. Go to the local feed store and ask questions. it is usually inexpensive to purchase your feed there and they can answer most or all of your questions about water fowl.

You usually should buy them starter duckling food from a store. Should you want to home-feed them, you can always feed them very finely chopped vegetables, fruits, white fish meat (thoroughly cooked), but I don't suggest worms or bugs from you backyard, as they might be sprayed with pesticide. You should always have water near, as ducklings will choke to death with no water to help rinse food down. For grains, water-soaked bread or rice (cooked rice) should do. But I highly suggest commercial duckling feed, as this makes them grow up faster.

You can feed them duck pellets, game bird feed, or cracked corn. Ducks need cracked corn in the winter to keep fat on, and only eat a little cracked corn in the summer.
