It really all depends on the birds personalities.
Parakeets of good nature, and Cockatiels of a similar nature are good together. If there is any aggression between the two before you put them in the cage together, then keep them separated. The parakeet could get severely injured.
Basically, cockatiels are better off alone in their own cage. You never know if your cockatiel would rather be alone in his own cage, or have a roomie. If you don't have a lot of time to spend with your cockatiel, then maybe you should think about getting a second cockatiel to keep each other company while you are away at work, school, ext. But on the other hand, if you have lots of time to spend with him, you should just let him have the whole cage to live in by himself. If you absolutely need to room your cockatiel with a pal, it will double the cost of the cage, toys, and food. Be responsible, and have fun with your baby(ies).
Canaries can share a cage with your cockatiel/s. You can buy a canary as a pet for your cockatiel to keep it company. Who knows? They might become great friends!
Yes, you can. Any type of bird is fine to go with a cockatiel. Although parakeets and budgies tend to overpreen their friends leaving the cockatiel partially bald looking.
Another cockatiel you could also put a parrot but it deppends.
Other cocktails would be the best thing.
it depends how old the bird is if the bird is young it probably won't know how to make a nest. if the bird is older it will probably make a nest.
Cover his cage with a cover or a sheet, or put it in a dark room. Either way the darkness will prompt him to sleep.
The purpose of having a cockatiel cage is because they need plenty of room to move around and so you can put objects in the cage so they can climb. The birds love to have plenty of things to do in their cages.
should be able to since they are both hook beacks
It is a myth that a baby bird touched by a human will be abandoned by its mother, put him in the cage or nest, handle them often so they will be used to people.
put that into to that then this into that done
Pinocchio doesn't like Stromboli, because Stromboli put Pinocchio in a bird cage. Pinocchio cried that Stromboli put him in a bird cage.
Small parrots don't do well with big ones, the African grey will become dominant, and it will act aggressively with the cockatiel. a cage is not a good idea no matter how big it is, only an aviary will be good enough to house them.
Yes you could but they might not always get on. I have got a cockatiel. I did have another one but she died. :( Anyways , when I put my new cockatiel, Polo, in the cage the other cockatiel Biddy just hissed a bit and went to the other end of the cage. The sometimes used to fight but not dangerous fighting. Just bickering at each other. If they do start fighting and it could lead to... well, you know what I mean, you should move one out of the cage for a bit and maybe put them in another cage. Put the cages next to each other so they slowly get used to each other. That's what I did. Now Polo is lonely because Biddy died :( . anyways, hope that helped! xxx
any kind!
I either open the cage door and let my bird fly around the room while I clean the cage.
you should put it in another cage, or lock it in a small, unharmful room, and turn on the light. its what i did... it worked :| But eh, someone will answer better. i say put it in another cage, or have ahold of it in your hand. I put my bird on my shoulder, obviously because it's got used to rest on my shoulder.
