Bonded leather is not real leather and should not be sold as such. It is composed of 3 layers: a layer of latex or other bonding product which has been mixed with ground up leather fibres to form a backing fabric. Then comes a fibrous layer Then a polyurethane or vinyl top coating. It is not very hard wearing on furniture.
