Inerrancy refers to the truth of Scripture. The Bible's witness to itself testifies to a record of truth spoken by God and the Holy Spirit (Ex. 20:1, Isa. 1:2, Acts 1:16, Hebrews 1:1-2; 3:7, 2 Peter 1:21). The word "inspired" used to describe the origin and nature of Scripture in 2 Timothy 3:16, literally means "God inspired" or "God breathed out." Although God used many people to physically write the words of Scripture (Ecc. 1:1, Jer. 36:2-4), the Bible is clear that the words written issued from divine initiative. Because God is truth (Numbers 23:19, Jer. 10:10, John 15:26; 17:3, Titus 1:2), His revelation in Scripture is true and entirely trustworthy (Ps. 19:7, Prov. 30:5-6, John 10:35, 1 Timothy 1:15, 2 Timothy 3:16).

Answer:

"Sanctify them [set them apart for Your Holy use] through Thy Truth: Thy Word is TRUTH." (John 17:17)

There is no verse in the Bible that says the Bible as a whole is true. This has to be the case, since the books of the Bible were completed before decisions had been made as to just what books should be included in the Bible. The various books that could have been included in the Bible, but were not, could have been regarded as true if included, but are now not so regarded in spite of having been seriously considered for inclusion.

There are a few verses that imply, if not directly state, that the book in question is true. This is no more convincing than if Dan Brown wrote a passage in each of his novels assuring us that the book is absolutely true.
