The theory that all life is related; present day species differ from ancestral species.
Therefore an example can be back then there were two types of Humming Birds; those with long beaks, and those with short.
The humming birds with short beaks dyed off because the couldn't reach the nectar from the flowers.
Those who had long beaks survived, since they could get the nectar from the flowers.
That's why Today's Humming Birds had Long Beaks .

One of the darwinian theories is the common descent or branching evolution. It says that population of different species descent from a population of common ancestors. It is due to the adaptive radiation i.e if two populations are migrated from the common ancestor population into two different environments so they will experience different selection pressures and if those two populations are geographically isolated then they wiil eventually develop into two different species which share a common ancestor.
The idea of evolution (although Darwin never used that term) is that far more organisms are born than the world can possibly support, and therefor most die without reproducing. And because every organism with two parents (which includes nearly all plants and animals) is a little different from both of its parents, every organism is different. This is "decent with modification." And the ones that happen to have traits that make it more likely to survive are more likely to have offspring, who, in turn, may also have these traits. Over time, a species evolves because of this.
Organisms on island clusters were very similar to each other and to nearby mainland species.
natural selection
The theory of common decent was one of the most helpful ideas in the formulation of the evolution of species. This theory acknowledges that to share common denominators there was a shared ancestor.

Fundamentalist Muslims are the largest group who reject Darwin's theory. Fundamentalist Christians, some Hindus, and other religious groups also reject it. ID proponents who reject evolution tend to also be predominantly religiously motivated in their stance.
Darwin's theory of common decent focuses on the proposition that those of common decent shared common ancestors. The theory also espouses the last universal decent from which all life descended.
Descent with modification. This is what Darwin called evolution.
Charles Darwin is most noted for the process of "decent with modification" and the process of "natural selection".

To add to the question: Some examples are the expansion of European states, global exploration, racial ideals, religious beliefs, politics, slavery, educated elite, associated sciences, and questions on human ancestry and decent.
Charles Darwin was not the first to recognise the role of evolution, but he did recognise that evolution came about by variability and natural selection. Darwin believed that when a natural variation gave a survival advantage, that individual was more likely to survive and pass on the genes responsible for that variation. He saw that varieties can be developed in a sufficiently short period to be studied, and said that evolution of species is just an extension of the observed evolution of varieties. Darwin said that [in nature] a well marked variety can justly be called an incipient species, although the variety, for any number of reasons, may never progress to becoming a distinct species. He published his most important work, The Origin of Species, in 1859 and The Descent of Man in 1871.

decent with modification
This theory is called biogenesis. It was formulated by Louis Pasteur.
Depends if the population increase is related to a selected pressure, you could then argue that the population change is an extended phenotype.Typically population fluctuations are NOT considered decent with modification and are seen as random drifts with out any selective pressures working on them.Good question,
You can't. The Atari Flashback 1, 2, 2+ and 3 do not come with a cart slot. This is an aftermarket modification that you can do yourself, assuming you are decent at soldering.
Obviously, the answer is Darwin. Darwin is the capital city of the Northern Territory. It lies at the entrance to a decent harbour, so started out by being a good port and trade centre for the entire northern coast of Australia.
