God's Word is a bit secretive as to the duties of angels.
Lucifer... and Michael and Gabriel, presumably, are "Cherubs" (Kar-oobs), plural, "cherubim." They are the only three angels named in the Bible.
Of Lucifer, the Bible says: "...thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the Holy Mountain of God..." (Ezek.28:14).
We are told that Lucifer, who later became Satan (adversary) following his rebellion against God's Government, or Holy Mountain, "...drew the third part of the stars of heaven..." with him in his rebellion - Revelation 12:4.
The Bible reveals "stars" as symbolizing "angels."
"... The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in My right hand... the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches..." (Rev.1:20).
It's evident that if Lucifer "drew a third of God's angels" with him in his rebellion... then the remaining two-thirds of God's angels should be divided and under the leadership and authority of the other two "named angels" in the Bible, Michael and Gabriel.
Although "Gabriel's angels" are not mentioned... we are told:
"...there was war in heaven: MICHAEL AND HIS ANGELS FOUGHT against the dragon; and the Dragon fought AND HIS ANGELS, and prevailed not..." (Rev.12:7-8).
Of angels in general, we are told:
"...Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?" (Heb.1:14)
So, angels were created TO ASSIST GOD IN BRINGING MEN TO SALVATION - to assist man in achieving ETERNAL LIFE and becoming GOD'S CHILDREN - HIS FAMILY.
We are left with a conclusion that Lucifer didn't like the arrangement... to be some kind of supernatural "eternal valet" for mankind.
He was obviously given a powerful position of authority in God's Government with one-third of God's angels at his command. Yet, he was a cherub... an angel... never to become an actual "Child of God." That was man's purpose for creation:
"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD..." (Rom.8:16).
He must have brooded over what the future held for him. Always an angel... never to become a true member of God's Family. He became bitter with resentment... and spoke his words of resentment and discontent to his angels.
"...Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise (like a traveling salesman, he sold his angels on his plan to rebel) they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the Mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O COVERING CHERUB, from the midst of the stones of fire." (Ezek.28:15-16)

For now... all we know is that God created the angels (including Lucifer) to assist Him in mentoring man in this "first phase of life" that will lead to Eternal Life and the creation of the "Family of God."

And so, whatever Lucifer's specific job was in the beginning, notwithstanding... it is obvious that his present one is to "teach man all about sin" while man is "flesh and blood"... so that when man finally understands God's presently "overshadowed Truth" in the end... he will be able to "change"... to "repent" of his former life of lessons in iniquity and evil... and seek his Creator's MERCY before the Mercy Seat. Just as Jesus gives us a preview of Judgment Day, the Last Great Day:
"...In the LAST DAY, that GREAT DAY of the Feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, LET HIM COME UNTO ME, and drink. He that believeth on Me, AS THE SCRIPTURE HATH SAID (according to the scriptures), out of his belly shall flow rivers of Living Water (The Holy Spirit)." (John 7:37-38)

A Heaven is whatever you want; a paradise. In heaven you are supposed to be happy, with "god(s)". Heaven on earth is a phrased used to explain true happiness on Earth. M…ost religions believe in a heaven. But in different stages of their lifes. Hindu's don't go to their "heaven" until they have gone up their ladder of reincarnation. Where will heaven be?
A: In biblical times, heaven was believed to be a physical place just above the clouds. Thus we have Elijah riding a fiery chariot up into heaven and Jesus ascending bodily to… heaven as the disciples watched. Sometimes, heaven could be seen, as when Stephen looked up and saw Jesus standing on the right hand of God (Acts 7:55). The old beliefs about heaven became unsustainable with the invention of the telescope and more so in the era of space travel. Heaven is now more often seen as a spiritual state rather than as a physical place. Even when understood as a place, its location is now ambiguous so that we can never know where it is or, for that matter, demonstrate that it does not exist. Another Answer: It would depend upon your belief as to where heaven will be. But according to the Bible, there are currently 3 places referred to as 'heaven' : the first is where the birds fly or our atmosphere; the second is the home of the heavenly bodies or where 'space' is; and the third, which is the highest, is where the Throne of God is and the spiritual world lives (demons not included here except when summoned for a time longer). The Scripture speaks of a future event where the first two heavens will be consumed by the Lake of Fire (see 2 Peter 3:10) and afterwards, the third Heaven descends to the New Earth with the Throne of God, in a New Jerusalem. Going to the movies is one of my favorite pastimes, but finding good content that feeds the soul is sometimes hard to do. It is not only a film about faith, but it is also about miracles! In fact, Jennifer Garner, who plays Mom, Christy Beam, in the film, said it helped strengthen her faith in God and it encouraged her children to ask to go back to attending church. When Garner was asked about her faith before the film, as compared to her faith during and after filming, she had this to say:"I think I had become complacent in raising my children, almost as though (I thought) they were going to receive the ground beneath their feet that heaven had given me through osmosis." She continued, mentioning that when she came home from shooting, she brought up the subject with her kids, and they said, "'Well, we want to go to church.'"She says that she "was floored, and I immediately looked up the local United Methodist church. We went there next Sunday, and it turned out to be the perfect environment. We've gotten so much from it; it's like a gift Christy gave me." So if this film could do this for Garner's family, maybe it could help encourage conversations around the dinner table for other families. Faith is a beautiful thing, and I'm so glad this film has helped to strengthen Garner and her family's faith. The release date for "Miracles From Heaven" is March 16, 2016.
