Plato and Aristotle were two Greek philosophers. Plato taught Aristotle. Plato focused on a reality of "forms". Reality is in another "form", which represents the "form of the good", the greatest form. Mind is over matter (idealism). Aristotle, student of Plato believed in reality of experience

(aprosteria ). He suggested that reality could be known via experience and that reality can be found via science and natural processes (materialism). The major thought of Western philosophy these days is Aristotle's materialism.
