the same as there are now many methods have changed and become Les labour intensive. IT has changed the speed and nature of many jobs But in the sixty's there were doctors scientists farmers labourer's, cooks chefs waiters soldiers,ice cream men, milkmen bakers sailors, etc etc.

They had plenty of jobs back in the 1960's. This included car salesmen, along with news paper reporters and teachers. Other jobs included garbage men, milk men, postal workers, secretaries, architects, designers, planners, builders, cartoonists, and more.

Gas Station attendents (mostly no longer used today, due to automation), fast foods, law enforcement, firemen, newspaper boys (the actual delivery of the newspapers are possibly illegal today; an adult would have to deliver the papers, due to age, in some states), automobile mechanics, lumber jacks (not as common today, due to automation), commercial fishermen (the fishing industry has changed, most of these jobs are located in Alaska today), construction (housing), plumbers, electricians, and the medical field was ALWAYS hiring, school teachers, and store clerks (Wal Mart type stores)...to name a few. Computers were in comic books, or on television.
