∙ 14y agoOften its the "War Between the States". The name used in the Official Records published by the US government is "The War of the Rebellion". When the war was still within living memory and some people were still personally upset over it, it was sometimes delicately called "The Late Unpleasantness". Unrepentant southerners called it "The War of Northern Aggression".
"Civil War" is probably inaccurate. A civil war implies two factions contending for complete control of all of an entire country. The south never wanted to control all of the US, only to separate from the rest of it, and be an independent, separate nation.

∙ 14y agoThere are probably others, but internal conflict has become a polite euphemism for civil war. An insurrection is also another term often used.
