Thanks to imagery from various space probes, we are just beginning, in the last 20 years, to really get good close looks at cometary nuclei. The biggest we are aware of is about 14 kilometers (10 miles) wide, most are half to two-thirds that size. How "big" a comet appears when it swings around the sun has more to do with how close it passes than it's size.

We don't know. There is evidence in earth's distant pass of some massive strikes, and many astronomers believe our moon is a result of an impact from some celestial object half the size of earth itself. The impact known as the "K-T Event" in the Yucatan, which may have caused or hastened the death of the dinosaurs, is estimated to have been 6-10 miles wide.

What was the name of the largest meteor to strike earth?

There has been debate over which meteor strike was actually the largest. The largest known strike was actually the event that created the moon and which gave the earth it's rotation. This occurred during the early days of our solar system, but the largest known existing strike zone (Which is also believed to be the strike that killed the dinosaurs) is knows plainly as Meteor Crater. The meteor was named 'Meteor'.
