The currency in England in 1707 was the pound (£), same as today.

But in 1707 the subdivisions were different. Before 1971:

£1 = 20 shillings.

1 Shilling = 12 pence (singular 'penny' abbreviation 'd').

1d (1 penny) = 4 farthings.

Which means: £1 = 960 farthings.
