Hoover used the "hands off" method (leave the economy alone, it'll fix itself), economic cycles (ups&downs)FDR thought to spend money (programs/deals) would get us out of the depression. Ultimately, FDR's thought to put our money back into the economy worked out as Hoover's did not.

He just standed there and watch people suffer and thought "Well this will blow over besides this ain't happening to me and it has no affect on me" well it does so that what I think and now he is a hated president by many
