No one knows what the first established religion was. Many of the very ancient religions have no current followers. The Hindu faith would be in the top contenders for oldest and current faiths.
There will be no concrete answer to this. One could speculate that the first religious thoughts were "Deistic", that is, man simply in communion with his Creator.
