The first movie that Charlie Chaplin talked in was actually in "The Gold Rush" from 1925. But he didn't talk directly, he just told the story in the movie and what the actors in the movie did, and thought. Like a storyteller. But it was first in "The Great Dicator" from 1940, he spoke directly to the persons in the movie. He found out that he couldn't be a silent movie star when everyone else had microphones and sound in their movies..
