He built a mosque (Masjid An-Nabawwi). He also made brotherhood between the Ansar, who lived in Madinah, and the Muhajireen, who traveled to Madinah with the Prophet (PBUH); he assigned each Ansari a Muhajir to take care of, and the Ansar gladly accpeted, for they wanted the reward from their God, the Most Merciful Allah.

What was Muhammad's Hijra?

Answer His flight from Mecca Ten years after Muhammad began his mission, his followers were still a minority in Mecca - being terribly oppressed by the ruling tribe there. A group of men and women in another city had heard about the Prophet's message. In their city was a tribe of Jews who always spoke of the coming of a prophet, which they soon expected. When Muhammad came along, those men and women from the city of Yathrib came to a place near Mecca to meet him. They believed in him and swore allegiance to him. So Muhammad and his followers migrated from Mecca to Yathrib - which was renamed 'Medinah' by the Prophet. His migration there, and the setting-up of the first Islamic State - is called the "Hijrah", or "Migration".
