Between 1900 and 1918, the British Liberal Party collapsed. It came to depend upon the Labour Party and the Irish National Party increasingly. This was a result of more working class men getting the vote under the 1867 Reform Act. Finally, the Liberal Party effectively split at the start of World War I.
