Bruce Lee finished filming Enter the Dragon in March 1973 with the Warner Bros crew. He wanted a more punchy and philosophical start to the film, so in April when the Warners crew had gone, he wrote and filmed with a Golden Harvest crew the Shaolin fight with Samo Hung, which then got inserted at the start of the movie.
For the fight Lee has possibly the first mixed Martial Arts steup, wearing only fighting briefs/pants, kenpo style open finger boxing gloves and leather shin guards (these are owned by a top Uk collector).
