If you forget the injuries it should be
DH Johnny DamonSS Derek JeterRF Bobby Abreu3B Alex RodriguezLF Hideki Matsui1B Jason GiambiC Jorge Posada2B Robinson CanoCF Melky Caberra
and the Starting rotation should be
1 Chien Ming Wang2 Mike Mussina3 Andy Pennite4 Joba Chamberlain5 Phil Hughes
Mariano Rivera should be the closer
Benched position players should be
C Jose Molina3B, SS, 2B, 1B Wilson BetemitLF Justin Christian1B Shelly Duncan
Now sadly a lot of upsetting things happend:
1 Chien Ming Wang got injuired running between third and home base at a interleague game in Houstan, and has been out ever since about July 16th.
2 Hideki Matsui had an injury in his right knee very similar to his left knee injury in 2006, will probably out for the rest of the season.
3 Jorge Posada had a shoulder injury which could possibly retire this catcher or require him to DH or play first base, and again losing him to surgery for the rest of the season.
4 Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy both got injured and were winless, again another disapoinment.
5 Shelly Duncan and Brett Gardner both couldn't preform.
6 LaTroy Halkins was a joke.
7 Jose Molina and Melky Cabrerra were both not able to hit.
8 Joba recently got injuired.
But there were some good times:
1 Getting a steal like trade from the pirates reciving Xavier Nady to replace Hideki Matsui and Damaso Marte to take over LaTroy Halkins pathetic job.
2 Trading Kyle Farnworth, an irritation set up man for Ivan Rodriguez a very successful catcher.
3 Mike Mussina has been incredible and really was impressive at taking over the ace position in the rotation.
4 Mariano Rivera is having arguably his best season ever.
5 Joe Girardi has been very impressive with his first year managering the Yankees especially with all of those injuries and disapointments.
Finally the current lineup is usually:
LF Johnny DamonSS Derek JeterRF Bobby Abreu3B Alex Rodriguez1B Jason GiambiDH Xavier Nady2B Robinson CanoCF Melky CabrerraC Jose Molina
an alternate is:
LF Johnny DamonSS Derek JeterRF Bobby Abreu3B Alex Rodriguez1B Jason GiambiDH Xavier Nady2B Robinson CanoC Jose MolinaCF Melky Cabrerra
or:
LF Johnny DamonSS Derek JeterRF Bobby Abreu3B Alex Rodriguez1B Jason GiambiDH Xavier NadyC Ivan Rodriguez2B Robinson CanoCF Melky Cabrerra
