the Texas theater
The Texas Theater is still around and still plays movies. It often shows foreign or other obscure movies (including the great Horror Christmas movie Rare Exports), and anyone working there can point out where Oswald sat (however, the original seat has been removed and replaced when the theater went under some renovations).

He was arrested for shooting Police Officer J. D. Tippit on the day of President Kennedy's assassination. It did not take long for police to suspect he had also killed the President, especially as he worked at the warehouse where the shots had been fired from and had left the building minutes after the assassination.
There is still a great deal of debate concerning the Kennedy assassination, and many conspiracies are suspected. Nonetheless, the general consensus of opinion is that Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin, and Oswald was caught almost immediately (in November, 1963) and was then shot before he could be tried (which is one of the reasons why many people think that the full truth is still not known).
