According to reports the number of B24s that were lost during World War 2 was 79. During the three large attacks the B24s were used in about half were lost each time.
ANS 2 - Your figures are totally wrong ! I was based at 2 different RAF stations in Norfolk during the 1960's, that had been B-24 bases during WW2. It was common knowledge among the locals of how many B-24's were lost on missions. Intrigued with this, I looked up the records on-site and found that from the 14 B-24 Bomb Groups operating from England alone. 1,102 B-24's never returned from missions. Shipdham, where I was first based, was home to the 44th Bomb Group They sufferd 153 B-24's lost during 1943-44.
I have no firm figures for the B-24 's operating in the Middle East or Pacific, bit most records place those losses at least around 1,000 . From this I am estimating about 2,100 total B-24 losses - over 20,000 brave young fliers.
I have the same question. It's ironic because you see WW2 shows and they show how the Luftwaffe shot down hundreds of B-17s, and then you focus on the war in the Pacific and it's like the U.S. Airman had it free over the skies. I haven't heard of a single B-29 Superfortress getting shot down in WW2 by a Japanese fighter plane. And I am curious to know if any were shot down at all.
3,626 B24's were lost in action in WWII.

The Tuskegee airmen lost 27 bombers which was far less than any other unit.
29 airplanes and 5 mini-subs were lost; 29 aircrewmen if single engine fighters, and 2 crewmen per sub. If some of the airplanes were torpedo or dive bombers they had 3 crewmen per airplane.
I have no Idea I have the same question :(

Number of lost time incidents X 200,000. Number of man hours worked.
Safe man hours is the number of hours worked minus the number of hours lost due to unsafe work or lost work due to an incident. This should get you the answer to total safe man hours.
No, the Japanese destroyed almost everything and the better of their bombers got away
Designate w as the number of games won. The total of 25 must be the sum of the number of games won, the number lost, and the number tied. From the statement of the problem, the number of games lost must be 9 more than the number of games lost, or w + (w-9) equals number of games played minus number of games tied, or 2w - 9 = 25 - 2; 2w = 23 + 9 = 32; w = 16.
German Aircraft : 900 (including 274 transports and 165 bombers used as transports) .
The number of lost time injuries will not tell you how many man days were lost. You need to know how many days were lost for each injury, then total them. This is the normalized by dividing by 200,000 (if OSHA regulations apply) to get days lost per nominal person-year.
