Nagasaki was actually the secondary target on Aug 9, 1945. The primary target was scheduled to be Kokura which was one of the largest arsenals in Japan, but weather prevented the dropping of Fat Man there. Here is the list of the first four choices as targets: a. Kyoto b. Hiroshima c. Yokohama d. Kokura Arsenal
