This is for the Pakistan/Kashmir earthquake of 2005! PRIMARY EFFECTS: * landslides * trees collapsing * buildings collapsed (not sure exactly how many, maybe look it up on Wikipedia?) * people buried in rubble * approx. 3.3 million homes destroyed * school children trapped under collapsed schools SECONDARY EFFECTS: * Approx. 80,000 people died - 79,000 from Pakistan, 1,400 in Kashmir, 4 in Afghanistan * 3.5 million left homeless * 380,000 were in need of emergency housing * 4,000 households were inaccessible by road due to landslides * 2.3 million people were without food for the winter * Disease spread, sourced from people drinking the dirty, contaminated water (this was all they had at the time by means of water) * homeless people died from hypothermia in the mountains (there was little to keep them warm as aid was slow to arrive) Hope this helps! Primary effects (instantly after)
>Buildings collapsed
>Tsunami
>Electric lines fall
>Damage to bridges, roads, and railway -- this further impedes rescue operations
Secondary effects (the next couple of days)
> Higher death toll
> Higher missing people toll
> Flooding
> Heavy rainfall
> Water disease
> Starvation
> Nuclear 'meltdown' feared
> 18,000 of Japan's Self-Defense forces are helping around 'hit' areas.

India is surrounded by south three sides of ocean and north himalaya and hill stations. In India earth quake occurring place are assam, misoram, gujarat, maharastra,Chennai, orissa,Delhi, jammu Kashmir, andaman Nicobar island are the places we notified for most earth quake occured places.
the Northridge quake was a 6.7 magnitude and the Chino Hills quake was a 5.4, so the Northridge quake was stronger
No because the epicenter is right on top of the center of the quake.
The haiti Quake Happened, January 12th 2010. Specifically 5:00 et.
Anything above an 8.0 is considered a great quake. Catastrophic damage can result from a great quake.
people died
yes
there are all sorts of things that happen after an earthquake like power going out

The difference between magnitude and intensity is.... Intensity is the effects of the earth quake. aka: damage and devastation. Magnitude is the strength of the earth quake that is measured by the Richter Scale. (correct me if im wrong at all) :)
Kobe & KashmirThere are many similarities:- There were many primary and secondary effects- Most buildingsweredamaged- Both of the earthquakeconditions were bad as each other- Many were injured- Many were killed- Many were trapped- Many were homeless- All water, electricity and gas was cut off
primary effect = primary damage happens as a direct result of the hazard. They Occur Straightaway.
i earth quake
ever lasting bad effects. Indian spending major portion of its GDP on defense because of Kashmir issue..Kashmir is like a cancer which is spreading everywhere..Due to small piece of land GOI is compromising the security of 1 billion people. In my opinion it would be better for India to declare Jammu And Kashmir as an independent State...this will give India prosperity in long run.
The Kashmir dispute was all about the control of Kashmir region by the Government of India, the Government of Pakistan and Kashmir Insurgent Group.
Kashmir is in India.
We can divide the effects of an earthquake into those known as the primary effects and those known as the secondary effects. Primary effects of an earthquake are those resulting directly from the earthquake itself. These include; buildings collapsing; roads cracking; bridges giving way; shattering of glass and injuries / deaths resulting from these. Secondary effects are those that result from the primary effects. For example ground shaking may result in the cracking of gas and water pipes (primary effects) this can result in severe fires due to explosion from escaping gas and difficulties in putting out fires due to lack of water from burst mains (secondary effects). Other secondary effects include, homelessness, business going bankrupt and closing etc.
