Kamikaze (Divine Wnd) attacks were launched against allied ships off the shores of Japan and Japanese held territories during WW2. Roughly 47 ships were sank, and around 300 damaged. Although Kamikaze attacks were only about 14% effective.
Kamikazes were people who killed themselves to save Japan by using a plane to smash into enemy ships, carriers and buildings.
The first known official use of the Kamikaze was during the "Battle of Leyte Gulf" in Oct 1944.
