It will spew water and shredded garbage into the cabinet under the sink! Don't do it! Okay, all kidding aside I believe what you are talking about is the hookup with 1 sink basin vs. a double basin sink into a single p-trap. You will want to use either a center outlet continuous waste drain, or, an end outlet continuous waste drain depending on where the sink drain is located. The disposal will go into 1 side of the tee and the other sink basin into the other side wher the 2 will be combined into 1 pipe to the single p-trap. The sink having one trap for each side would be optimum but if your house is not plumbed that way this is the next best thing. The continuous waste tee does have a baffle in it that directs the flow down to the trap this does restrict the flow somewhat and if the disposer side of the sink ever cloggs while the other side is okay I would start by looking here as long as the disposer is running.
This will only happen if the drain pipe is clogged further down the line, near or in the wall. Possibly if the garbage disposal has been installed by an amateur, the 90 fitting going to the other tub has been installed the wrong way.
"A good insurance policy for an engagement ring will cover every potential situation that might happen to your ring, including damange, theft, and even accidentially dropping it down the garbage disposal."

when people throw their garbage anywhere they feel like
Check out http://www.storyofstuff.com It offers a clear explanation of how production and disposal works. Section called 'disposal' answers your question. You can skip to 'disposal' by clicking the button on the menu at the top.
"Potato peelings - not that this would be something you'd be likely to give your piggie anyway, but toxins can exist in potato skins, particularly if they've begun to turn green, and they can be poisonous. Just toss them in your garbage disposal or trash instead of your piggie."
what will happen if you install a knock sensor that isn't called for that make & madel
Did you happen to replace the disposal prior to this? A common mistake is forgetting to knock out the plug on the disposal, where the hose attaches, stick a screwdriver inside and beat it with a hammer to knock it out.
