It could be a bowel obstruction, kidney stones, or simply gas. There is really very little on that side of the body but any lingering pain of unknown origin should not be ignored. If it persists, you need to follow up with your family doctor. You do need to monitor your other symptoms as well such as a fever, pain in other areas, blood in urine and/or stool, etc.
