Under Joshua's leadership, the children of Israel crossed the river Jordan on dry ground, making their entrance in to the promised land. (Joshua 3:17) It is true that some of the tribes received their inheritance on the east side of the river Jordan, but the promised land is most often referring to the land on the west side of the Jordan. 2 "Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them--the children of Israel. (Joshua 1:2) This happened in approx. 1470 B.C. The date for the Exodus and resultant entry into the promised land is fixable by reference to:
1And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD. The science of Archaeology has fixed the date of the temple to around 961BC and thus the Exodus was thus close to 1441 BC. With 40 years of wilderness wandering, this gives an entry into the promised land of 1401 BC.
According to the biblical genealogies, the Hebrews must have arrived in the Promised Land approximately 1400 BCE.
However, there is clear and irrefutable evidence from the extensive Egyptian records that the Israelites did not exist as a separate group until just before 1200 BCE. Scholars now say that the Israelites did not conquer the land of the Canaanites, as described in The Bible, but were disident Canaanites who left the coastal cities to settle in the Canaanite hinterland.
Moses didn't enter the Promised Land (Deuteronomy ch.3, ch.32 and ch.34). Joshua entered the Promised Land together with the Israelites (Joshua ch.3-4); according to tradition, it was in 1272 BCE.
1 Kings 6:1 tells us that the Exodus from Egypt began four hundred and eighty years before the fourth year of Solomon's reign, which can be dated because of biblical references to actual events in history. This places the Exodus in the biblical text approximately 1440 BCE: "And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel..."
However, almost all scholars agree that the Exodus from Egypt never happened as described in the Bible.
Traditional chronology states that the Israelites entered the Holy Land on the tenth of Nissan in 1272 BCE. See also:
The Israelites who were lead by Joshua entered the promised land, but moses did not enter the promised land.

well..first off israel is also called the promised land. the main reason for this is because G-d had promised this land to the Jews. This land will always be the Jews. G-d gave his people their own land to praise him. G-d had promised the Jews that he will bring them back to their home land when the messiah comes (promised land)
God promised the promised land to the Israelites.
its approximated that over 700 Jews made it to the promised land
Actually Moses started the journey leading the Jews to the promised land, but he died and Joshua took over the job of leading the people to the promised land.
Israel
The Jews says promised land, of milk and honey.
it was there promised land
To the Promised Land
Israel (it still is the promised land for Jews).
Joshua and Caleb, both faithful spies during the first reconnaissance of Canaan were the only two persons of their generationto enter the Promised Land when the conquest began.
From Moses' generation only Jacob and Caleb entered the promised land so the wife of Moses did not enter the into Israel.
