No. Churchill did not become Prime Minister until the war had been going on eight or nine months. Churchill's resolute, steadfast leadership perhaps did cause Britain to stay in the fight, when a lesser man might have advised making some sort of peace with Hitler. From June 1940, until June 1941 only Britain and her Commonwealth nations remained at war with Germany.
