That really depends on what sort of a deal you get on it. The region it came from would probably be more pertinent than how far you travel to get it. For example, if you're looking at, say, a truck which was used to run Pennsylvania exclusive, it'll probably have something like 3.70 or 3.90 rear ends. If you, on the other hand, are running a state like Texas most of the time, the tall 3.70/3.73/3.90/3.91/etc. rear ends probably won't be of much appeal to you, nor, if you were running places like Pennsylvania exclusively, would the 3.08, 3.25, 3.36, etc. rear ends common on trucks dedicated to running flat states be of much appeal to you.
