The Sons of Liberty dumped tea into the Boston Harbor because they were against the Stamp Act. They did not want to pay such a high tax for this tea. Tea they where only allowed to buy from British Ships, with a tax they had no say in British Parliament either for or against. This say, is ultimately all the people of the Colonies actually wanted.
