1980, with Lotus, who he stayed with till 1984. In 1985, he moved to Williams, and in 1989 to Ferrari. He came back to Williams in 1991, and moved out after 1992. He made a comeback in 1994 after the untimely death of Ayrton Senna, and he raced the last three races of the season with Damon Hill as teammate at Williams. In 1995, he signed up with McLaren, with Mika Hakkinen as team mate, but retired after only 2 races.
