If that is not the case, it is usually more of a financial question, depending on how many weeks of paid maternity leave you can expect, if any. Whether you can begin getting paid maternity leave before the birth of your baby depends on what your employer allows. -------- At my work the earliest you can leave is 11 weeks before the due week. I believe this is according to the UK law.

∙ 13y agoOnce you a few months before delivery, your doctor doesn't want to get you stressed, because a stressed mom, equals a stressed baby. Also, you don't want to strain yourself, like, your back neck, etc. Why does it matter any way, your off!
