There is no series 2 in 2010, there is an episode on Christmas Day and series 6 will air sometime in 2011.
The only episode that will air in 2010 is the Christmas special, there are no more until mid 2011 when series 6 starts.

If you mean 'why does the next full series start in 2010', then that is because in 2009 they are having four specials instead of a full series because of the BBC budget and the change over of control on the show, they have decided to have specials, and return with a new series with Steven Moffet at the helm in 2010.
