Jesus does not ever specifically say when he will return. The second coming is only referred to vaguely. Matthew 24 discusses various signs that the advent is coming, as of course does the entire book of Revelation. But Jesus only said his return will be when you least expect (Matthew 24:43-44).

Matthew 24 area and in the beginning and end of the book of revelation.

Answer:

Jesus Christ is the "WORD" of God... and all the books of The Bible are His Words.

Therefore... Jesus speaks of His return throughout the Bible.

He inspired Joel to write of His return leading His angelic army:

"...the Day of the LORD is coming. It is close at hand -- a Day of darkness and gloom, a Day of clouds and blackness... Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes... nothing escapes them. They have the appearance of horses; they gallop along like a cavalry... They all march in line, not swerving from their course... Before them the earth shakes, the sky trembles, the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer shine. The LORD thunders at the head of His army; His forces are beyond number, and mighty are those who obey His command. The Day of the LORD is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it?" (Joel 2:1-11 NIV)

Amos was inspired to write:

"...Woe to you who long for the Day of the LORD! Why do you long for the Day of the LORD? That Day will be darkness, not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him. Will not the Day of the LORD be darkness, not light -- pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness?" (Amos 5:18-20 NIV)

Jesus inpired Zechariah to write:

"...I will gather all nations to Jerusalem to fight against it... Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as He fights in the Day of battle. On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives... it will be a unique Day, without daytime or nighttime -- a Day known to the LORD... This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. On that Day men will be stricken by the LORD with great panic. Each man will seize the hand of another, and they will attack each other." (Zech.14:2-13 NIV)

He inspired Jeremiah to write:

"...the days are coming, declares the LORD, when people will no longer call it Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom [Gehenna Valley], but the Valley of Slaughter, for they will bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room. Then the carcasses of this people will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and there will be no one to frighten them away. I will bring an end to the sounds of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride and bridegroom in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem, for the land will become desolate." (Jer.7:32- 34 NIV)

Matthew records:

"...At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory." (Matt.24:30 NIV)

John envisioned:

"...heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose Rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns... the armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of His mouth comes a sharp Sword with which to strike down the nations. 'He will rule them with an iron scepter.'... on His thigh He has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS... I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, 'Come, gather together for the Great Supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and of the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.' Then I saw the Beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the Rider on the horse and His army... the Beast was captured, and with him the False Prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf... The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. The rest of them were killed with the Sword that came out of the mouth of the Rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh." (Rev.19:11-21 NIV)

"...our 'God is a consuming fire.'" (Heb.12:29 NIV; see Deut.4:24)

You don't hear many people speak of this Jesus... but that's some of what Jesus tells us about His return in the Bible.

The Bible doesn't say when Jesus is coming again. The Bible says that only God knows the day and hour when Jesus will return

Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
